Camp Offerings
Camp Escalante offers many different options for your visit from weekend retreats to camps designed just for you or your group.
Weekend Retreats

- Geocaching - find out just how much fun geocaching can me, after you learn how to geocache you'll be able to explore the many places around the world where geocaches can be found.
7 to 21 Day Camps

Youth Camps
- Junior Rider - for ages 10-15, your camper will 5 days of instruction in horse care and horsemanship followed by an overnight excusion on horseback camping at our lakeside equestrian back country site.
- Senior Rider - for ages 16-18, your camper should have experience with caring for horses and at least an intermediate riding ability before signing up for this camp. The first two days your camper will get choose and get acquainted with the horse they will be riding for week long back country camp. Each camper will be responsible for caring for their horse throughout the length of the camp. Wranglers will accompany the campers with pack horses carrying cooking gear and food for both horses and campers but each camper will be required to pack and transport their own camping gear including sleeping bags, tents, drinking water and clothing. Saddle bags will be provided for those that do not have their own. ** with prior approval campers may bring their own horses and receive a discount of $200 on this camp.
- Walkabout - for ages 12-17, your camper will learn back country skills first introduced while staying 3 days in our basecamp. This will include how to pack your backpack, choosing meals, leave no trace and additional trail skills. The next 5 days will be spent moving from through our beginner's backpack trail from camp area to camp area. Starting with a short 2 mile hike and ending with a 4 -6 mile hike (depending on the age and condition of the campers in each group) each day will become a little more challenging. Campers must be able to pass a swim test since several of our camp sites are on water with the option to swim, canoe or kayak in the afternoon.

Adult Camps (18+)
- Back Country Fishing - experience a guided hike though our beautiful backcountry with stays at our beautiful back country sites along streams where your fly fishing catch of the day will be preared by an expert outdoor cook (don't worry we'll have sides and are always prepared in case you prefer something other than fish for your meals). We offer you the option of hiking in with your backpack and fishing gear or riding in on horseback with wranglers to manage your horses and supplies.
- Backpacking Packages - You provide all your gear* and we provide the trailmaps and facilities. *options include a backpacking guide, prepared meals or meal drops at select camps. We have a limited supply of backpacks, sleeping bags and cooking equipment available for rent as well.
- Horse Camping - bring your own horse and gear or rent ours (wrangler required if you take our horses) and explore our equestrian trails. We have two types of back country equestrian friendly trails. The first has dedicated camp sites complete with corrals for your horses, potable water, toilets and cooking facilities. We can arrange for food deliveries to these camp sites for both your and your horses. The second is more primative, most have streams or lakes but are simply cleared sites suitable for pitching your tent and running a picket line.
Specialty Camps
Over the years we have custom designed camps for individuals and organizations including:
- Corporate team building retreats from 2 to 21 days, taking advantage of our ropes coures, geocatching with cache contents uniquely created for each group to outdoor survival skils testing.
- Arts and crafts
- Jousting workshops and competitions (* limited availablity and minimum 5 day commitment required)
- Back country fishing for families or other mixed adult/youth groups, either backpacking or horse camping.
