Desert Site Template
3 Equal Columns Site Template
The Desert Site Template uses one of the basic site templates offered on our sister site Migrating from FrontPage to Expression Web as a starting point. The resolution of this template is 1024 x 768 or wider, designed to be a fixed width and centered in the viewers window.
Changes made to the template include: style rules added for the #contentWrapper which include a background image. This allows for three equal height columns. If you need/want to change the colors for the background image, the image is 964px wide by 100px high. Both ends are the width of the side columns plus the left and right padding.
Masthead
The masthead image is 100px wide by 252px high. I was added to the style rules for #header as the background image. The image is my own photo so there is no problem with licensing.
If you wanted to use a fancy font with the site name, you can create a transparent gif or edit the image in your favorite graphics editor. Example The psd file has been included so that you can edit it with your site name.
Site Navigation
Both a top and right side navigation has been included with this template. You may use one or the other or both. If you wish to include a changing menu according to sections of your site on the right, then you will need to make the menu an editable region.
If you require a dropdown menu, I can highly recommend CSS Express Drop-Down Menus from Project Seven.
Images
Classes have been included to float images both right and left as well as centered on the page. All images you insert should be resized to the size you want displayed NOT resized by changing the width and height within the html code.
